Friday August 17, 1012
Hello Friends,

Today the Flourishes Senior Design Team is having a Free For All stamp day.  We are drawing to a close our Flourishes August Release.  Today I chose to do Garden Pick and used a water color technique.
Here is my card.  It has a very definite water color look to it.

In order to achieve this very soft look I stamped the image with Memento Summer Sky--a light blue.  I allowed the image to dry over night then began to color.  Using the aqua pen filled with water, I applied a light amount of water then lightly added color from the Letraset Aqua Markers, moving the color around with the flow of water until I was happy.  Most water color artists use a light blue or light grey pencil to create the image, therefore allowing the colors to flow without any hard lines.  This is very different than stamping in black and using reinkers to color.  I prefer the look without the hardness of the black lines.

Here are the August Releases, today ends the sale of the bundle price on this group of lovely images.  So if you want them all, go shopping before midnight.    Just as in release week’s past — the week after release the design team hosts a free for all — where they pick up their favorite sets of the release and play with any or all!  So, get ready for a feast for the eyes today!  Just in case you missed it — here are this month’s gorgeous sets!  And TODAY is the very last day to take advantage of the August New Release Bundle — when you can get all four sets for 10% off the retail price. Just click HERE to see the bundle in the store!
Here’s a peek at what’s hot off the press and in the store now…

Day 3 Flourishes August Release AUTUMN BLOSSOMS

Friday, 10 August 2012
Hello Blog Friends,

It is Friday and the last day of Flourishes Release for August.  It has been a really busy month for all of us and we're not done with the Flourishes Birthday Bash. So far we announced our Color Made Easy Paper and Ribbons that match our Copic Marker Collections, that Flourishes now carries the Silhouette Cameo electronic cutter, and we released two of this months sets.
We hope you've enjoyed this week's peeks and we are excited to say that all of the stamp sets that we've been showing off this week are in the Flourishes Store HERE!

OK, this is where I get really excited!  Flourishes is now carrying the Silhouette Cameo!   We also have some exciting news to share as well -- for three out of the four sets, there is a Silhouette Cut File available as well!  These files made exclusively for the Silhouette Cameo offer the ability to custom cut images from the Garden Picks, Autumn Blossoms, and With Gratitude stamp sets. Keep reading to learn more!  Or, click HERE to visit these files in the Flourishes store! On to today's last stamp set to be unveiled! It's one that pays homage to the beautiful blossoms of fall!

This is set two of  The Blossoms Collection.  This beautiful array of autumn blossoms illustrated by Marcella Hawley features a bouquet, corner stamps, and pieces to create your own borders or frames. Add in a trio of all occasion sentiments and you have the perfect set to create cards for every day correspondence. Set measures 4" by 6" and is the perfect companion to sister sets Happily Ever After, SS199, and Letters in Bloom, SS198.  If you like this set, you might also like our Summer Blossoms set as well featuring summer florals! The Flourishes design team has really gone all out showing off this beautiful set!

Here is the card I made using the Autumn Blossoms set.  I recently received a card from Leslie Miller and I love the layout so today I cased it.

I used Authentique "Carefree" 6" by 6" pad along with Flourishes Classic Ivory paper.  The ribbon is from the new 1-2-3 Create Kit Delightful.  I cut my cuts using the new Cut Files for the Autumn Blossoms set on to the Ivory Classic, then copied the file onto a new file on my Cameo and enlarged it, then cut from another sheet of designer paper from the Carefree pad.  I stamped the image and sentiment with Memento Grey Flannel ink, then colored the image on the ivory with the following Copics:

I colored a few tiny Kaiser pearls with the same Copic to give them a silver look, to finish off the bow I added the top of a stick pin--I cut off the stick pin and glued it in place.  I like the look of the Silhouette cut file and will continue to work on mastering the re-sizing of the file image, this was my first attempt.  Brave of me to make it for the first time and use it besides.  You are going to love this new dimension that you can give your cards. Check out the store for the details on purchasing your own Silhouette Cameo from Flourishes.

As we mentioned earlier, this set does have a companion cut file that you can use with your Silhouette Electronic Cutter. This digital download is purchased from the store and upon completion of your order, you'll recieve a link to download your Silhouette Cameo file. This file will only work using the Silhouette Cameo and the Silhouette Studio Software. This file offers cut files for all stamp images excluding sentiments. We think these will add so much fun when creating. While we plan to release cut files with our new stamp set releases, we also plan in the coming months to add files for some of our tried and true favorite Flourishes stamp sets! This feels like a Birthday Bash Gift to me!!

August Release Day 2 Country Road

Thursday, 9 August  2012

Hello Blog Friends,

Today we are moving to a slower pace of life with the release of Country Road.  This is another show stopper set done in silhouette by our own Lauren Pope. This talented artist has again and again produced silhouette stamps that have feeling and depth to them..heart touching depth.  This set will also touch many hearts, she taking us to the country roads.  Whether we grew up in a country location, vacationed there or visited someone in the country, this has a way for the majority of folks to voice a quiet ...hummmmm....

Let me introduce Country Road

I must admit that I am not a cowgirl, but I did grow up in the deep south and we had family that own large tracks of land.  Summers meant trips there, picking and canning vegetables and some wonderful time on the porch swing or a rocking chair. My "son" James loves the country and everything about horses and farm life.  He coached me more than a little on this card.  How'd we do?

I used a sketch layout from my books of samples.  Authenique 6" x 6" Paper Pad "Genuine" was perfect for this card.  The card is 5" by 7".  This format allows for the patchwork and barn weather wood paper (MME-Howdy Doody 6" by 6" pad).  The navy paper is True Blue from Flourishes new Color Made Easy paper line.  James picked the nailheads --he said they look like the ones on jeans.  That made me think of the buckles I had from my Flourishes slides.  A piece of brown ribbon and I had a belt.  I love the little tag with the sentiment.  It also came from the Authenique Genuine pad.  Wanting to make a card with this look of feel?  Go for the flourishes.org front page, look just under the slides of card at Coo Tools--everything there to make similar cards!  Easy shopping.

Now it is time for me to send you on to the Flourishes Senior Team to see their creations.

Remember one of us is the Mystery Blogger today,

Wednesday 8 Aug, 2012
Hello Blog Friends,

Here on the Gulf Coast of Florida we have had terrible storms of rain, lightening, and thunder.  We lost power and you know that resulted in no internet service until late tonight.  So I am a little late in getting my post out.

If you were here yesterday you saw that Flourishes released to the public a Marcella Hawley set that she penned for our FLIP customers as a gift for joining our FLIP program.  Now that we are officially into a new FLIP year, it is time for a new gift for customers that make that qualifying order of just $100.00 (excludes shipping or taxes). It's time to qualify, if you have not already done so, and get that discount code for the first of each month until Aug 2014.

We decided to make the With Gratitude set available to the general public this year.  Yesterday's blog hop was wonderful !!  If you missed go back and take the tour--lots of inspiration, beautiful cards from very talented ladies from the Friends of Flourishes. The Timeless Tuesday post kicked off the start of the Flourishes August release! (And a chance to win it!) So check that out! .

Today, our fabulous designers are showing off a set that is fresh picked. It’s a bouquet of goodness fresh from the flower garden!
Introducing…

Freshly snipped from the garden, these herbs and florals are ready to be enjoyed. This set illustrated by Marcella Hawley features three different bouquets all designed to be set in an old fashioned mason jar for a down home feel. This 4″ by 6″ set also features two perfect all occasion sentiments as well. Wait until you see just how gorgesous this set is! If you like what you see on today’s designers’ posts, this set is available for pre-order now HERE!

Here's a look at the card I made for today.  I made a long, lean, simple card.

Here is a close up of the center frame.
